Jetting on 3 Bikes, Opinions needed
« on: September 06, 2011, 07:43:02 PM »
I have three bikes I need to rejet and none are the same. I asked two people and one suggested that I make a thread of it so here goes.

I've got three 660's I'm building and I need some help. Since I'm doing three cash is tight so I just want to change jets right now. Any help would be great!

I've listed the recommendations from the exhaust companies but I'm curious how accurate those are......

Figure 1500' elevation

Bike 1
686 (102)
12 to 1 Compression
Stage 2 Hot Cam
No porting/head work
Pro X valves & Kibblewhite valve springs
Open Flow Pro kit w/ outerwear
Full Titanium Akrapovic Exhaust

Cannot find any reccomedations from Akrapovic

Bike 2

673 (101)
Stock Compression
Stock Cam/valves/springs
No Porting/head work
Open Flow Pro kit w/ outerwear
Full ALBA Racing Exhaust

ALBA Recommends Main Jet Right Carb - 160
Main Jet Left Carb - 155
Pilot Jet - Stock
(with no lid)

Bike 3
Stock Compression
Stock Cam/valves/springs
No Porting/head work
K&N Replacment w/ outerwear no lid
Full HMF System

HMF Recommends150 Left-155 Right

Its been awhile Fireman!

just gonna get a few jets????

bike 1.... ? i'd say 165/170, and prob up the pilot. move the needle clip down one? (wait for Mad Dog to answer)

2 the alba jets sound good. if it burps when you jab the throttle, up the pilot, if it stumbles for longer, move the needle.

3 hmf numbers are good. that was my first Raptor Purchase ever :) Remember it like it was yesterday. But the 660 didnt like it when I pulled off the airbox lid (hesitated briefly), so I bumped the needle down, and it ran quite well for awhile.

I miss jetting

Thanks man, I wish you were going to make the rally.

I don't like it, to much to jack with just to change them, lol.

I was thinking 160/165 and 25 pilot on mine but I wasn't sure after seeing Alba's recommendations. So I think I'll try your suggestions, sounds better.

I guess I'll go with the other two suggestions from the exhaust companies, I'm sure they've messed with it enough to know.

I figure worse case I'll shell out the money and let them dyno tune mine (Raptor 1) at LS.

My number may be rich, but I always tended to lean that way... I thought it said it was ported too, my bad.

What are they at right now? did you just build it?

Right now its stock jets. This is a fresh build that's why I'm asking I don't even know a starting point.

I put 160/155 in Jessica's bike tonight (Bike 2) started right up and sound good. I'll button it up tomorrow and take it for a spin.

Well I got #2 all put together (160/155 stock pilots) and went for a test ride, idles great but it stumbles under acceleration.

No Porting/head work

Full ALBA Racing Exhaust

ALBA Recommends Main Jet Right Carb - 160
Main Jet Left Carb - 155
Pilot Jet - Stock
(with no lid)

Ok, put 25 pilots in and upped the mains from 155/160 to 160/165. Took it for a spin and its still stumbling 2/3's to 3/4 throttle on up.

Needles are on the 3rd clip.

Should I go up again.

Hmf is saying what I have in mine. 150/155, 22.5. Not sure on pilot screw or needle setting yet. I just got my carbs taken off to clean. I am not running an air box.
