I put in new oil, oil filter, spark plug and gas.  Took it for a spin. It would run full power for 2 seconds then no power on and off.  I came back to my house and it had fuel in the oil AGAIN. This is really making me mad. The rites of spring is in a few weeks and I wanna go.  Someone help please

Not a whole lot of smoke. Just the first revs.  It seemed to get quite hot for a 1/2 mile drive

Guess I don't know what type of compression test you did, because when I do them the fitting for the compression tester goes where the spark plug is.

Yes, I do think you should clean the carbs.

+1 hmmmmmm

I agree. clean carbs first. nah on the needles, just clean em really good. Unless you open it up, and they are all grungy

Got engine running. It runs okay but if your at idle and gun it, it bogs down and backfires. If u ease it up its not bad

I would seriously try running some Seafoam through it. Pour the right amount in the gas tank and go hammer on it. I'm almost certain it will clear its self out.

I've told three people at work to try this and it worked for everyone of them.


Has the bike been sitting for a while?

+1 parking brake sensor unplug that sucka. follow the wire from the left handlebar down to behind left headlight. youll find the plug there. easy one to check.

Sorry for the many dumb questions and excessive posts... anyway thanks to all of you my raptoe is running strong. But one last question, is it normal for the exhaust pipes to glow orange after a little but of driving? Again, thanks
