rr34 you shoulda been running a foam for how dusty your conditions are

i do now. and theres no way in hell im putting a K&N on my YFZ. not gonna risk it. even if that was what caused my 350 to blow.

i need to find a really good foam intake for the yfz.
f*ck the system? i didnt even know there was a system!

That's not the cause of you're problem on your 350. I wouldn't be afarid of a K&N. I've ran them for years.

I personally quit using the K&N filters because they let in to much dirt, if you ride all day with one then take it off and just wipe your finger around the inside of the intake hole you will have a finger full of dirt, you can hold the K&N up to the light and see how big the air holes are, very bad for your carb, valves and rings, I always run the dual stage foam, I don't like haveing to replace valves and pistons to often. :)

I have a EHS lid on mine and run a prefilter also I have two filters to switch out. I have had no problems, but have seen people who have from lack of cleaning. If you are the type of person who does not like maintaining you stuff then K&N is not the way to go.

You are exactly right, keep it cleaned, well oiled and run it with an outerwear. You'll be straight, ive ran k&n from very dusty to very wet conditions and never had a problem.  just keep it cleaned and well oiled
