Beaners Project "Dead Duck" Jeep Build
« on: September 24, 2008, 09:26:43 AM »
over the last few years ive been getting your $200 jeep and patching them up to make a couple runs then parting them out. finally sick of it so i found a nice jeep with lots of potential. its a cj frame that has been back halfed and shackle reversal up front. clean yj tub with a couple surface rust spot but other than that great shape. extra interior, seats, cherry doors, good yj clip, good windsheild frame,35in tires that are almost shot, 258, t-150 , 20 case, dana 44 and 30, spring over ect ect ect

plans for this thing:
fuel injected small block chevy sick of amc motors i think
auto trans for my lady
full cage tied into frame
repair body and put a nice paint job on it
maybe some fullsize axles
put cj clip on it
tube fenders
clock t-case flat
maybe some 37's or 38's or 40's :naughty:
frame sliders
custom bumpers and tire carrier
remove body and paint up frame maybe extra support for common problem areas frame has no rust on it but what the hell
axle gussets
maybe some waggy springs out front to offset axle and xj in rear we will see

and the pics start

before i brought it home~

only rust on jeep~

nephew needed some money so i put him to work.

Time to pay buddys in beer

after some more work

Now im gathering parts and picking away at the frame. cutting out areas and replcing them with 3/16 plate made up my own gusset kit. debating whether to cut back of frame off and 4 link it and coil springs. ill get current pics later.

Looks like a cool project.

I really used to want a Jeep when I was younger, but insurance would have ate me alive!

The Jeep looks like it was in pretty good shape, just a little minor rust issue (which is common for you guys up nort). Easy fix.

I understand the house is cutting into your Jeep time, but the house is more important. The Jeep will still be there when you're ready.

Hell yeah!

Bad ass.

I know a guy that has a TPI motor in his Jeep. It's pretty trick....It turns the tires extremely well.

Cummins?

Damn. Would it fit?

That's a $14,000 engine.
