RAPTOR 350 SMOKING WHEN FIRST STARTED
« on: July 15, 2008, 06:17:00 AM »
I JUST CHANGED MY OIL TO 20W-50W (YAMALUBE) DEALER RECOMMENDED DUE TO SUMMER HEAT.  I CHANGE IT ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO AND I HAVEN'T RIDIN IT AT ALL.  SO WHEN I STARTED IT UP IT SMOKED LIKE CRAZY FOR ABOUT A GOOD 30 SECONDS AND HAS NEVER REALLY DID THIS BEFORE.  COULD THIS BE A COMBINATION OF CHANGING THE OIL AND NOT RIDING IT FOR A WHILE?  IS THIS SOMETHING I SHOULD WORRY ABOUT?

After the 30 seconds it stopped smoking?

Has it done it since?

Smoke pouring out of exhaust or else where?

After sitting for a while, and just smoking a little on startup, its nothing to worry about, unless there is raw oil blowing out or anything your good.

you also could of had condensation built up in the exhaust from sitting.  When the motor fired, it'll look like a white cloud of smoke.
